the only real problem i'm seeing with this architecture 9(which may not even be a SQLite issue) is that it tracks User ID's in stead of usernames/nicknames. this is not very problematic with sending messages because it tracks the nickanem/username/IP (yes even the IP) / version of team talk and OS, but it is a problem if you're receiving messages because you have to know exactly who that is, E.G. user #404 .
this is also a problem because team talk changes the user ID every single time a person joins. this will get fixed sometime today
@Em0nM4stodon I'm gonna drop them an email. I honestly beg them not to do this. I think it's a huge, enormous mistake. Btw they do actually read and listen to emails. When people kicked off about the on-device CSAM scanning stuff, they did change direction on it.
@ret Excellent idea 👍

As my question to Matt indicates, the Roberts Court is increasingly in a pickle. Every lower court that has ruled on the USPS Rule has now resoundingly decided it is likely unlawful and issued or upheld prelim injunctions against its implementation. 1/ #Lawfedi
There are certainly some members of the Roberts Court who nevertheless would definitely be willing to stay these injunctions. There are also those who would definitely be willing to uphold them.
The pressure is on any in the middle. Do they explicitly side against Trump? Or do they just let the lower court decisions stand without affirming them? Or can they be convinced by the members who would issue the stays? 2/

Now the collab is with termites. They had tunneled the handle of an abandoned shovel (and left long before I found it), so I sliced it to reveal the structure.
I still haven't figured out how to display it.

@sundogplanets part of me wants Kessler Syndrome to happen so that big companies can't make global satellite networks anymore. Because if billionaires can't respect Leo, maybe they shouldn't be allowed to have it.

Not worth the hit to astronomy though. Turns out billionaires _can_ take the sky from us

Earth's orbital environment is a finite resource. Our latest Space Environment Report shows the long-term impact of our activities in space worsened by an order of magnitude in just one year. The time to tackle space debris is now. Read more:…

@kottke This essay reads like it was written by someone who is completely ignorant of any written SF written since about 1961. In other words, a non-SF reader.
